A Bittersweet Update…

Dear Friends and Family,

The last couple weeks have been absolutely heart wrenching for our family. We received information from several sources that our adoption agency had been acting irresponsibly and unethically. We don’t feel that it’s appropriate to share the details here on the blog, but things are bad.

After a weekend full of non-stop prayer and long conversations with our wonderful Pastor and my parents, we made the decision to terminate our contract with the adoption agency. What this means is that we have lost the referral for the triplets.

We are so sad. But, we know full well that our God is sovereign. This journey is not about us, it is not even about those three, precious boys. It is about God bringing glory to Himself.

Our Pastor so eloquently pointed out that, perhaps God intended for us to have enough faith to say, “Yes!” to three little boys and, as we focused on that reality, He had another one in mind altogether.

And, that is why we are so delighted and overjoyed to tell you all that we’ve signed with a new adoption agency; the same agency, in fact, that conducted our home study and hosted our adoption classes just last month.

We are thrilled to have already received a referral for a 15 month old baby boy. We’re still trying to wrap our heads around all that has happened in just a couple, short weeks, but we are at peace with the decisions we’ve made. And, we are absolutely confident that this is what God has for us.

We thank you for your continued prayers, for your love, for your support. We’re on this roller coaster for the duration, but pray that this part of the ride will come to a stop sooner rather than later.

Our sweet 10 year old daughter, Avery said to me today, “Mama – maybe God took one blessing from us to give us an even bigger blessing.”

I think she may just be right…
